The TCA8500 Timing Server is a Primary Reference Source (PRS), or Primary Reference Clock (PRC), that provides unparalleled timing accuracy and hold over using Rubidium as the local oscillator. TCA8500 Timing Server functions as an IEEE1588-2008 (PTP) grandmaster reference clock and delivers PTP packets across IP networks.The TCA8500 Timing Server accepts a GPS signal from a variety of manufacturers' antennas and provides antenna power via an attached RF cable.The TCA8500 Timing Server uses highly accurate Precision Timing Protocol (PTP) technology. The TCA8500 Timing Server performs timestamping in the hardware, and provides wirespeed PTP with unparalleled accuracy, while decreasing vulnerability to Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. In the event that a direct connection with the GPS is interrupted the TCA8500 Timing Server maintains Stratum 2 synchronization with the use of a local Rubidium oscillator.Because of its integrated platform, the TCA8500 Timing Server replaces previous generation reference clocks at a lower total cost of ownership. The network timing distribution capabilities of the TCA8500 Timing Server reduces the need for expensive Cesium timing elements in the network.
